3/15/2017 0 Comments Can They Be Trusted?A musician's dream is to get a record deal to a huge company such as Warner Music Group, Atlantic Records, or Shady Records. With a record deal, it is so much easier to record, distribute, and advertise your music. They have the connections for you to go on tour and have little concerts if you are just starting out and find artists for a feature or to be featured in. All this is great and looking at an artist from our point of view it seems like they are living the life. A lot of money and always traveling but there is a whole another side that most people don't know. There is a Music Documentary based on the independent band called 30 Seconds to Mars. The documentary, called Artifact, tells you all the reason why the band 30 Seconds to Mars won't sign to a record label and it shows them debating if they should sign a deal or not with any label. I highly recommend the documentary by the way. Once an artist or a band is signed to a label with a contract, the only real way to make money for them is to do shows. The record label gives you certain amount of money to use for an album. Then, the artist has to pay the label back the recording, distribution, and mixing fees. Then, they also take out money for finding shows and the tour which leaves the artist in debt. So many artists actually go bankrupt or lose a lot of money because or a record label. So can they be trusted? Well, a lot of the big companies are like this but that doesn't go for every label. So be sure to read every single word before signing anything.

3/15/2017 0 Comments Why you hating?Obviously, there is a huge difference between the old and new hip hop. In the old hip hop, we had legends such as N.W.A, 2Pac, and The Notorious B.I.G. They talked about problems of this world. They talked about real things. That was the true and real meaning of old hip hop and it still is what hip hop really is. New hip hop have a lot of good artists also. Few examples are J.Cole, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, NF, and Hopsin. But, we have so many "bad" artists now a days and most hip hop, pop, rap, and even R&B artists talk about money, sex, and drugs now a days. And we have so many of these mumble rappers now that we can't even understand what they are saying. Few examples are, Desiigner, Lil Yachty, Lil Uzi Vert, and so many more. A lot of the old artists have been saying that the new hip hop is actually not hip hop anymore. Although the beats have changed, the style and the sound have changed, I have to agree with the old hip hop artists saying new hip hop is not even music at this point anymore. How do you feel about this?

They are an alternative rock band that is one of the first, if not the first, band to mix rock, heavy metal, and electronic all together. They're fan base is huge and I am a huge fan of them. I have been following them since their debut album. Their sound is so unique and was so new at the time, everyone was at least interested. In 2010 they came out with an album called A Thousand Suns. For three years they were silent. No new music, no new posts, or no new videos then they came out with an album called Recharged which was very electronic heavy album. Then after that the next year they came out with The Hunting Party. This was when their fans began to worry because they were sounding more like the trendy music instead of what they have created. Then all of a sudden, they announced that they are coming out with the album called One More Light. Everyone was so hyped and couldn't wait to listen to it. Linkin Park came out with a new music video of their new single called Heavy... Such disappointment... for the other fans at least. I personally liked the song and the sound but so many people were hating the song and hating on Linkin Park because it was such a pop sounding song. As a musician myself, I get it. I get why Linkin Park has decided to feature a pop singer and make a pop song because they have to follow the trend because that is how they make money. I do miss the old sound but I personally do like the song Heavy still. So is following the trend bad? Well, depends how you look at it. For the fans it is but for the band, they really have no other choice. Other artists such as, Eminem and Jay-Z has also followed the trend. Listen to it and you decide.
